Tolerability versus intolerance
In connection with cosmetics, food, food supplements and others, the term intolerance is most commonly used. This mainly describes the following reactions, e.g. after food intake:

  • Toxic reactions such as food poisoning
  • Food allergies
  • Food intolerances

Allergy and Intolerance
Do you know the difference between an allergy and an intolerance?
Although the two terms food intolerance and food allergy are used synonymously by many people in everyday life, they are two completely different sets of problems.

Food allergy

Caution is advised

With a food allergy, your immune system classifies certain substances as a threat to the body and tries to fight them off. The body reacts to even small amounts of the allergenic substance. Allergic reactions usually occur within minutes of coming into contact with the allergenic substance.
The most common symptoms are itching, swelling in the mouth and throat, runny nose, nausea and vomiting.
The most common allergenic foods are eggs, peanuts, fish, crustaceans, celery and mustard.

Food intolerance

When food causes an upset stomach

With food intolerance, your body is not able to process certain foods or absorb them at all, e.g. as a result of an enzyme deficiency. The symptoms usually do not occur immediately after eating, but only hours or even days after consumption. However, small amounts of the substance are often tolerated.
The most common symptoms are abdominal pain, flatulence and acute diarrhoea.
The most common intolerance-triggering foods are lactose, gluten, fructose and histamine.

Strath products and tolerability - a core competence of the Bio-Strath company

All Strath products are natural food supplements and are characterised by high tolerability. There are no known side effects. If, in rare cases, slight reactions such as flatulence or soft stools occur, it is advisable to take the preparation with meals instead of before eating. Taking it throughout the day promotes the optimal availability of the natural vital substances and counteracts an unpleasant digestive reaction. For people with sensitive stomachs, it is generally recommended not to consume cold drinks from the refrigerator.

Strath products do not contain any allergenic substances, so there are no known allergic reactions to Strath herbal yeast. In case of gluten or fructose intolerance, it is recommended to take Strath tablets. In case of lactose or histamine intolerance, all types of Strath products can be taken.
Since Strath products are very well-tolerated, continuous intake is also recommended over a longer period of time.

The basis of all Strath products is plasmolysed herbal yeast. In a unique manufacturing process, yeast and herbs are combined and broken down so that all of nature's good active ingredients are present in the yeast matrix and can be absorbed very well by the body.
