How it all began
"I stood on skis for the first time when I was just over two years old. Even then, I was fascinated by the winter and the cold. I made my first tracks in Obersaxen. But after just a few ski seasons I wanted to go snowboarding. Snowboarding is fascinating for me and much more versatile than skiing. When I watched the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin on TV, I was immediately hooked on snowboard cross. Winning like Tanja Frieden did back then, that's been my big goal ever since".
Successes
In 2016, Sophie made 2nd place at the Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer, and in 2018, 3rd place at the Junior World Championships in New Zealand. Since then, she has achieved many other successes and secured various top places, most recently winning the 2023 Universiade at Lake Placid. Sophie was also Swiss champion in 2022 on the Lenk.

Fit on the slopes
Sophie shows exercises that you can easily do at home and that prepare you for the slopes. Trained muscles prevent falls and protect tendons and joints at the same time. A trained sense of balance also prevents falls. So why not join in?
